Not-so-smooth Criminal

In Uncategorized on November 30, 2008 at 4:03 am

door A couple of weeks ago, my house was robbed. My fiance and I left to drop the kids off at my parents house. We were gone for an hour and a half at the most. We came back with our Taco Bell, a luxury to us now days, only to open our door and find our entertainment cabinet tipped over with a missing 42 inch LCD.

So- No Do-over?

In Uncategorized on November 12, 2008 at 5:42 am

room Is 24 the age of understanding for everyone- or is it just me? I have pondered about my personal quest in life and now at the tender age of 24 I have drawn up my conclusion- I want a do-over!

Handwriting!

In Handwriting! on November 7, 2008 at 12:58 am

handwritingGive me the personality tests! I want them all! I seriously love these things, especially when they are as accurate as this one. Every single bit of this report is dead on and I am astonished. Search the net for “handwriting analysis” and have fun!

Change starts with YOU

In Change starts with YOU on November 4, 2008 at 11:14 pm

change I find it pretty interesting that people assume one man, one president, on political party can change America. That these people we elect into office are our “saviors” and all responsibility rests on their shoulders.

My life is in your hands

In Uncategorized on October 25, 2008 at 3:42 pm

Do you know who you are driving behind? Do you really know who you are driving with? According to FARS, there were 37,248 traffic fatalities in the US in 2007. Are you a safe driver? Can I trust driving next to you? Is it OK if I merge onto the Interstate or are you one of the ones who speeds up to be 1 second early to your destination? Read the rest of this entry »

Choose Wisely

In Choose Wisely on October 20, 2008 at 7:32 pm

You aren’t as limited and unnoticed as you think you are. Your actions and your words could possibly  affect someone in some way for the rest of their life. People remember the kind things you do as well as the awful.

Freak out!

In freak out on October 19, 2008 at 8:10 am

A thought pops in your head. You start getting scared- terrified. You notice your heart racing and pay close attention to every beat. The more you think, the worse it gets. You can barely  breathe and are almost certain you are going to have a heart attack and die. You can’t be at home like this, you need to be monitored at a hospital or you may not make it. You are having a panic attack.

I’m a big girl now

In I'm a big girl now on October 19, 2008 at 7:31 am

In my honest opinion (at least my opinion at age 24) I don’t believe that maturity comes with age- it comes with wisdom. Wisdom may  or may not come with age but aging definitely does not grant you maturity in ~alot~ of cases.

What matters most

In What matters most on October 17, 2008 at 3:00 am

How can I *ever* find it in me to be negative when I am surrounded by so much positive everyday? I am in Chicago right now visiting family and I am here for two weeks. I am so missing my family right now. It makes me appreciate what I have just by being away.

Not so secret after all

In Not so secret after all on October 15, 2008 at 9:50 pm

Am I the only one that is thrilled to take a personality test? I mean really, these things are so accurate it’s scary. It’s just enlightening to see that I am as unique as I think I am. Wow.

Mirror, mirror on the wall

In mirror on the wall on October 12, 2008 at 8:13 am

So I am positive not everyone sees me the way I see my own reflection. But I am not just talking about what’s on the surface, I am talking about what’s beyond how you appear. Though I may never win a beauty pageant I know deep inside I love who I am. I like what I see.

No one is your keeper- unless you are <18

In No one is your keeper on October 11, 2008 at 7:52 am

So the sad truth that we adults have (hopefully) learned by now, is that no one is guaranteed the life they “desire”. Circumstances are not always going to be in your favor, no one gets their own cheer leading squad rooting them on as the walk their own path in life, sometimes we seriously just gotta do what we gotta do. Ladies, when you have kids, please tighten up. This is another post where I am preaching to myself. To all the mommies out there, this is a must read.

Curtain Call

Breaking up is a bitch but if you live in fantasy land for too long it will suck even more.  As I type this blog, I’m preaching to myself here, too.

When it Rains it Pours

In When it rains it pours on September 29, 2008 at 2:13 am

storm

I can appreciate a good storm. It reminds me that I am still alive. If the sun were always shining, how could you ever appreciate it? If there were never struggles to overcome, what would the purpose in life be? Sometimes you have to look beyond the surface to find the answer.

Life is a Game. Let’s Play.

In Life is a game on September 24, 2008 at 3:17 am

Life is a kind of Chess, with struggle, competition, good and ill events
-Benjamin Franklin
I must thank my Fiance for introducing me to this game. I always looked at it as a “nerdy” type of game. To me, it just looked like Checkers with fancier pieces.

When I grow up

In When I grow up on September 23, 2008 at 4:06 am

Wow. How do I even begin to write this? Just the mere thought of my childhood makes me zone out in a daze and want to obsessively search 80’s cartoons on You Tube! For a while I thought it was just the 80’s and 90’s. They had to be the coolest decades in history. Now that I have kids I see that the innocense of childhood is nothing short of magical.

Kids are in your future. Proceed with caution!

In Proceed with caution on September 23, 2008 at 2:01 am

Man life would be so much easier if there were danger signs EVERYWHERE. Ya know, letting you know in advance that you are in for a ride if you proceed? BIG RED SCARY danger signs.

What is an example, you may ask? HA! Parenting. Yeah. There should have been danger signs tatted on like every single mom I ever came in contact with. *I* happened to be one of those educated “bystanders” that thought the job was simple.

Romance is Vintage

In Romance is vintage on September 19, 2008 at 12:30 pm

Damn I love oldies. It’s crazy how things change because I swear it was only yesterday I sat in the backseat of my parent’s beat up Dodge Caravan ducking for cover while my mom blared The Temptations past all of my neighborhood friends. But over time I have grown a respect for it and actually a huge desire to listen to it….constantly.
